Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa Wasn’t Originally Planned For The Film Festival

Dobaaraa, the new-age thriller from Ektaa R Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap, has made a lot of noise for its unique genre of time travel that audiences will experience after a long time. As audiences eagerly await its release, the film is beginning to earn its place at film festivals despite being a remake.

While Anurag Kashyap’s director Dobaaraa is one of the films of the genre that Indian audiences will encounter on the big screen, the film has already started to spread its wings as it will be screened at numerous film festivals. However, being a remake, it’s amazing that the movie is better made than the original. While director Anurag Kashyap has always worked on the original scripts, Dobaaraa will also mark the first remake of his career. Apart from that, Anurag will also be seen trying his hand at the “time travel” genre for the first time.

Moreover, the film constantly takes its place in several film festivals and recently, Anurag Kashyap was approached by the Fantasia International Film Festival and other film festivals to open the festival exclusively with Dobaaraa. Having said that, it looks like the film will surely change the dynamics of Indian cinema as it started gaining recognition long before its release.

Starring award-winning actress Taapsee Pannu, the film is directed by acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap and produced by Shobha Kapoor & Ektaa R Kapoor’s Cult Movies, a new wing under Balaji Telefilms and Sunir Kheterpal & Gaurav Bose (Athena).
