Baturu Cultural Festival 2022 Call for interns. Designer, Illustrator


We are looking for interns from March 20 to May 31, 2022 for the 9th Annual Baturu Cultural Festival which tells stories of women around the world.

The festival has several sections – film, advertising, comics and fine arts. Highlights of the festival include Spanish-speaking Directors Month with the Cervantes Institute in Beijing, Shanghai, the “Madrid Women’s Film Festival in Baturu” with the Cine Por Mujeres Festival, Madrid, the “Archive” section with BFI and Simone de Beauvoir’s Center Audiovisuel, screenings and post-screening discussions of films such as “Seyran Ates: Sex, Revolution and Islam” (2020) by Nefise Özkal Lorentzen and “Leftover Women” (2019) by Shosh Shlam and Hilla Medalia among others. The festival also offers comic workshops and lectures on the fine arts.

In the long term, the Baturu Cultural Festival aims to empower women and promote public understanding and awareness of gender equality in China. Through the presentation of works in a variety of art forms ranging from fine art and film to comics, literature and music dealing with women’s rights and open dialogues between a diverse set of voices, the festival aims to raise public visibility not only of women in film and art, but also the myriad of issues facing women in modern China and other countries.

Responsibilities of the intern:
– Realization of illustrations for posters, announcements
– Design of posters, online promotional materials

– Unpaid internship on project
