Brazilian Cultural Festival in Tripura: TTAADC

With the support of the administration of the Autonomous District Council of the Tribal Areas of Tripura (TTAADC), the Brazilian cultural festival will be held next November in Khumulwng, in the district of West Tripura.

The main objective of this festival will be to exchange language and culture with the people of Brazil and this state, said executive member Kamal Kalai of TTAADC on the 12th founding day of the Tripura Tribal Folk College at the NUAI auditorium in Khumulwng Friday. .

During the recent meeting with the Brazilian ambassador, CDA leaders invited Ambassador André Aranha Correa to visit Tripura and probably in late September or October, he added.

Kalai said, “TTAADC plans to establish folk music centers in 33 sub-areas of the state, and discussions are underway to form a cultural advisory committee with experienced people.”

Speaking at the program, Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chief Member of TTAADC, said: “The administration of TTAADC has taken the necessary initiatives for the overall development of the ADC region. Special initiatives are taken to develop its language and culture.

“Under the leadership of the royal descendant and the MDC, Pradyot Kishore Debbarman held talks with the ambassadors of Brazil and Israel in New Delhi to exchange cultures with these respective countries,” Jamatia said. He urged the state government to take measures for international exchanges for the development of language and culture.

Addressing the program, TTAADC President Jagadish Debbarma said that the current ADC administration TIPRA Motha is committed to developing its language and culture in a context of limited financial capacity.
