Call for entries: Stuttgart International Animated Film Festival 2022

The 29th Stuttgart International Animated Film Festival (ITFS) will take place from May 3 to 8, 2022. Animation films completed after October 1, 2020 can now be submitted for the main festival competitions.

Entries are now accepted in the following categories:

  • International Competition – International Competition for Animated Short Films
  • Young Animation – International student film competition for animated short films
  • Tricks for Kids – International competition of short films and animated series for children
  • Trickstar Nature Award: Competition for animated short films dealing with the themes of climate protection, biodiversity, the environment and sustainability
  • AniMovie: International Competition for Animated Feature Films

To participate in the above competitions, submit your film via shortfilmdepot.com – the deadline for submission is December 1st. ITFS 2022 regulations can be viewed here.

Future call for applications, categories and dates:

  • Trickstar Business Award – Prize for innovative business models for a project or a company in the field of animation (Call for applications November 2021 / closing date March 1, 2022)
  • German Animated Screenplay Award – Best Screenplay Award in German or English for a German Animated Feature Film (Call for applications October 2021 / closing date February 1, 2022)
  • Animated Games Award Germany – Award for an animation-based computer game from Germany with the best visual and aesthetic design (Call for entries December 2021 / closing date February 1, 2022)
  • Crazy Horse Session – 48H Animation Jam – International teams take up the challenge of creating an animated short film on the mascot of the Trixi festival in 48 hours. The Crazy Horse Session takes place in cooperation with the electronic media MARK13 and is supported by MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg and the Landesanstalt für Kommunikation Baden-Württemberg.
