The dramaturgy of the festival took its final form less than two months before the start of the festival. This year also offers a unique opportunity for spectators in the form of a discussion with individual jurors. The dramaturgical line, called ENC:TALK, will present theatrical themes from the perspective of the professions of the individual speakers and their countries of origin. Brno, February 16 (BD) – In January, a total of nine foreign ensembles were selected from the 26 registered schools. There will be representations from Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain, as well as from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Thanks to this international flavor, spectators can familiarize themselves with theatrical work abroad and thus see beyond the borders of art in this country. As every year, the festival of theater schools will see the participation of a professional jury, composed this year of the artistic director of the Prague Quadrennial and scenographer Markéta Fantová (Czech Republic), the director and actor Luca Vossos (Italy ), theater director and educator Davide Giovanzana (Switzerland), and puppeteer, director and manager Kata Csató (Hungary).
Other forms of performance art will also have their place in this year’s festival. The organizers have contacted Czech choreographer and dancer Marek Zelinka, who will lead a workshop focusing on the basics of movement theatre, magic lanterns and mime during the week of the festival. The culmination of this workshop will be a performative performance as part of the closing ceremony.
In addition to theatrical performances, the city of Brno will also organize a series of concerts of music by Czech bands in Brno clubs such as Kabinet Múz or ArtBar. Tickets for the festival will be available for purchase via the Goout.net web portal from March 14 or directly on the ENCOUNTER festival information page.
The festival is created with the financial support of the Visegrad International Fund, the City of Brno and the Czech State Fund for Culture.https://brnodaily.com/2022/02/16/brno/international-festival-of-theater-schools-setkani-encounter-announces-final-dramaturgical-concept/https://brnodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/13_Nesvadba_ENC2014_3-1024×659.jpghttps://brnodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/13_Nesvadba_ENC2014_3-150×97.jpgBrnoNewsBrno,Czech Republic,Festival,NewsThe dramaturgy of the festival took its final form less than two months before the start of the festival.
