Lorain International Festival returns in June 2022 – Morning Journal
The Lorain International Association announced on October 5 the return of the Lorain International Festival and Bazaar to Black River Landing, in downtown Lorain.
It will take place June 24-26, according to a press release from LIA.
Additional events, including the international princess competition, will take place in the days leading up to the festival.
The 2022 festival will spotlight the Mexican community of Lorain, with The Morning Journal as the flagship organization, the statement said.
Festival organizers have canceled the Lorain International Festival and Bazaar in 2020 and 2021 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“No one has missed the Lorain International Festival for the past two years more than the members of the LIA board of directors,” Chris Rewak, chairman of the board, said in the press release. “Lorain’s ethnic churches, foods and festivals are what makes it special.
“The board is looking forward to once again offering an event for family and friends to share memories, as well as pastelillo, gyroscopes, pierogi and more in beautiful downtown Lorain.”
Lorain International’s board of directors meets on the third Tuesday of each month.
Anyone wishing to join the board of directors or help with planning for next year’s festival is welcome, the statement said.
