The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity returns to France in June 2022
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has confirmed that it will return to Cannes, France from June 20-24, 2022. Philip Thomas, President of LIONS, said: “We look forward to bringing the industry together and bringing together the community once again. For more than 67 years, Cannes Lions has served as a rallying force for the global creative community. As the world continues to evolve and change, we know our role as unifiers must evolve. Making Cannes Lions a hybrid festival will allow us to continue to reach our wider creative community that we have welcomed through our digital initiatives over the past 18 months. This is an opportunity to democratize, innovate and reinvent the Festival of tomorrow.
Plans for the Festival, which will rely on membership in LIONS, the subscription-based digital offering launched in March 2020 and now boasting over 10,000 members, are being developed to offer the global community even more flexibility and easier access to the home of creativity.

Last week, LIONS opened its annual State of Creativity Survey. Designed to uncover industry attitudes and approaches to creativity, and paint an accurate picture of what will impact the creative economy of tomorrow. The results of the study will form the editorial program for LIONS 2022 across all of its platforms and events. Cannes Lions will open its call for content in January.
Speaking of the Cannes Lions 2022 juries, Susie Walker, VP, Awards & Insight, said: “The return of the Festival to Cannes means we can once again bring our jurors together in person. Our unique judging technology allows us to perform the early stages of judging remotely, but we’re excited to bring the jurors back to Cannes to complete the final stages and award the Lions – as they’ve done since 1954. We look forward to hearing discussions and insights as our juries delve deeper into the work and set the global benchmark for creative excellence.
Over the past 18 months, Cannes Lions, in conjunction with owners Ascential, has developed a health and safety standard that provides industry best practices at live events. The Festival will respect the latest health guidelines before and during the event. Cannes Lions will open for registration and registration on January 20, 2022. The LIONS membership platform is home to creativity all year round.
