The cultural festival ends with thrilling activities

MINGORA: The three-day cultural festival ended on Sunday with exciting activities here in the scenic Miandam Valley.

A large number of tourists and visitors from all over the country had flocked to Miandam to enjoy the Cultural Festival.

Organized by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Tourism, Sports and Culture in collaboration with Swat District Administration at Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Motel to promote local culture and tourism in Swat.

Along with stalls showcasing local dishes, cultural costumes, herbs and woodwork, the literary works of local poets and writers were also showcased at the event.

Apart from traditional Khattak dance and folk music and drama, sports competitions including gymnastics, marathon, trekking, boxing, bodybuilding and cycle racing were also part of the festival.

While enjoying the event, the tourists said they were amazed to see that Swat is not only a scenic tourist destination but also has a rich cultural heritage.

They showed keen interest in Swat’s scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage. They said the carved wooden furniture and decorative pieces, embroidery, woolen shawls and various sports in the area were eye-catching.

Tourists said that Miandam was a serene valley where the weather was also pleasant. Organizers said Swat is one of the best tourist resorts in the world, which also has over 5,000 years of history.

District sports officer Kashif Farhan Khan said the organization of the cultural festival aims to promote culture and tourism in Swat and attract more tourists to the scenic valley.
