The Monaco International Amateur Theater Festival is back
The festival will host no less than 15 theater companies from 14 different countries.
The theater is in full swing in the Principality. From August 17 to August 22, two of Monaco’s most emblematic cultural places, the Ttheater of Variety and the Princess Grace Theater, will welcome 190 actors for the 17the edition of the Monaco International Amateur Theater Festival.
All rooms are free to enter. Performance hours vary between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
In addition to the performances, the festival will organize mornings of seminars where theater companies who have performed the day before will be able to meet festival-goers. The conferences will be an opportunity to discuss the functioning of amateur theater in different cultures. In the afternoon, the festival will host a series of workshops on two themes: “Why the mask? and “Creating a modern choir in a classic room”.
Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18: Argentina, Hungary and Slovakia.
Thursday 19 and Friday 20: Belgium, Morocco and Slovenia.
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22: Finland and Italy.
Princess Grace Theater
Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19: United States, Portugal and Central Africa. Friday 20 and Saturday 21: Spain, France and Lithuania.
Entrance is free but tickets must be reserved on the festival site.
